COLUMBUS, Ind. — Authorities said at least 17 mailboxes have been smashed in southwestern Bartholomew County, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Department received 17 reports of smashed mailboxes between 7:05 a.m. and 12:24 p.m. Monday.
Most of the reports came from residences on County Roads 400W, 1050S and 1100S.
Authorities have no information about who caused the damage, but the amount of damage could lead to felony charges for whoever is responsible, said Maj. Todd Noblitt, the sheriff's chief deputy.
Anyone with information can call the sheriff's tip line at 379-1712. Tips can be made anonymously.
