Verda Mae Adams Keen, 79, of North Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon with Rev. Mike Schuler officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, June 22, 2012, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will be at Dupont Cemetery.

Born June 22, 1932, in Perry County, KY, Mrs. Keen was the daughter of William Young and Judy Adams Young.

She enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, bluegrass music, her family and grandkids.

Mrs. Keen is survived by two daughters, Sandra K. Guthrie of North Vernon and Pamela J. Miller of Madison; two sons, Ricky A. Adams of North Vernon and David G. Adams of Vevay; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Keen; parents; two sons, Bill Adams and Tim Adams; two brothers, James Young and Robert Young; and a sister, Helen Cummings.
