David Lee Dewey, beloved father and husband, passed away peacefully at his home in Nashville, IN, Sunday, June 17, 2012, surrounded by loved ones and friends.
David was born March 24, 1926, to Virginia (Lee) and John Dewey, in Crawfordsville, IN. He grew up in Crawfordsville before the family moved to Columbus, IN, in his young years.
Mr. Dewey proudly served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from Columbus High School.
David is survived by his Wife, Peggy (Shiflet) Dewey, and her son, Michael Shiflet, and daughter, Jill (Shiflet) Cameron; and his daughters, Victoria Lynn (Dewey) Goeke (Emil) of Indianapolis, and Sherry Ann (Dewey) Gore of Brown County; and his five grandchildren, Abigayle Kristine Gore of Bloomington, Gabriel James David Groves, Joshua Daniel Dewey Groves (Chris), Rachel Elizabeth Kelley of Indianapolis, and Shaun Matthew Kelley (Beth) of St, Louis, MO.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 28, at the Presbyterian Church, State Road 135N, Nashville, between 5 and 6:30 p.m.
